Following the launch of Iota Fondo IX, the Company’s Board of Directors decided to support two foundations committed to advancing research into treatments for cancer and autoimmune diseases, as well as promoting educational projects for people with cognitive disabilities.
The Humanitas Research Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to the study and treatment of diseases such as cancer, heart attacks, stroke, autoimmune disorders, neurological conditions, and musculoskeletal diseases. In its international dimension, it contributes to the training of young researchers (currently 400) from all over the world. The Foundation is equipped with 40 laboratories in two buildings located within the Humanitas University Campus and directly connected to the clinical facilities of IRCCS Humanitas in Rozzano.
The Foundation supports gender-based research for precision medicine enhanced using Artificial Intelligence: in 2021, IRCCS Humanitas in Rozzano was awarded among the winners of the Artificial Intelligence Research Award – Phase I.
Among the research projects on autoimmune diseases, Pink Union is the movement supporting women’s health and the development of new therapies for the most common female conditions.
The Tender to Nave Italia Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2007 at the initiative of the Italian Navy and the Italian Yacht Club (Y.C.I.), with the aim of combating all forms of prejudice related to disability and social hardship, supporting individuals who risk being marginalized because of such prejudice.
The Foundation promotes educational and rehabilitation projects carried out aboard a sailing brig, following a method that has proven effective over time: the Nave Italia method. This method is designed for people with cognitive disabilities, sensory impairments, genetic diseases, and psychological or social distress in its various forms.
The ship provides a range of therapeutic components that enable professionals to develop personalized treatment plans, using tools such as individual, family, and group therapy, psychological assessments, medication management, a healthy diet, regular sleep patterns, and physical activity.
For a period of 5 years from the Start of Operations, the Fund donates a percentage of the Total Amount Subscribed to Humanitas Research Foundation and Tender to Nave Italia Foundation.
